What to say about the current state of politics… It is disappointing, and at times alarming. I hope that the pendulum swings back in the other direction before irreversible damage is done, but it might be too late.
Yes, politics should always be grounded in facts. We live in a democracy, so it is really down to every individual who can vote and petition. We all need to ground ourselves in facts and first principles thinking.
But we also need to have a separate protected space for imagination and abstract thinking which is free from the constrains of facts here and now. Where we explore potential realities which could be.
And we need to look back at history more. We can learn so much from what has happened in the past.||GB|0

I wish I knew how to speak out against the disgusting acts of murder by police I see every day without overshadowing voices of color, without mirroring what they\’ve already said. I wish I knew how to make a meaningful change to the systems around me. We\’ve become so used to our police force being something we fear that I can\’t imagine us existing any other way. When people from other countries tell me their police don\’t carry weapons, it amazes me. I wish The United States wasn\’t such a deeply sick and terrifying place. ||US|1
